Aqua Marina Breeze 9' 9If you are here reading this, it means that you’re willing to hit the water, and hit it with style. The Aqua Marina presents you with the newest version of their SPK1; “The Breeze”, and if you ask me, stand up paddle boarding seem to be a great water sport when you want to both workout and relax.

I’m not a spiritual person or anything, but I just always relate the water to fun, relaxation, and meditation because it usually pushes me to contemplate about this whole universe, and with an inflatable board like this one you’ll enjoy a greater experience.

First let me tell you that this inflatable board comes in a complete package with everything you need to handle it. Second, in my opinion, the Aqua Marina Breeze stand up paddle board is of a perfect size and size matters a lot; it’s 9′ 9″ which is great for beginners who are into recreational paddling, however, it won’t fail you if you needed more fun. Also, it is 30 inches wide which means you can always lay comfortably on top of it, and like most inflatable paddle boards in the same size, the Breeze is 4 inches thick with an all-round design that I can’t help but admire.

Those qualities put together make this board pretty good for almost anything; you can try some moves if you are an advanced paddler and enjoy a little bit of surfing, and even if you are not advanced in this whole thing of paddling, the Breeze is made with an anti-slip pad that has a honeycomb groove design which prevents slipping off the board and boosts stability.

This anti-slip pad covers nearly the whole board, which reminds me to tell you that with a traction pad this large you can always take your kid or your dog with you on board while you cruse the water. Furthermore, this stand up paddle board comes with a grab handle at the middle which is extremely useful whether you needed to carry the inflated board, or get back on top of it when you’re in the water.

Aqua Marina Breeze 9 ft 9 inches Stand Up Paddle Board ReviewThe Breeze stand paddle board is made to take up to 209 pounds; I’m barely 140 pounds, and I can always carry my favorite snacks on board in addition to my water equipment thanks to the 4 D-rings that are connected with a bungee cord on the board’s head.

aqua marina 9ft breeze inflatable stand up paddle board reviewThe board’s tail also comes with 3 additional D-rings in case you wanted to attach a kayak seat or a safety leash. Moreover, the Breeze is made of a double-wall drop stich PVC construction which makes it very suitable for exploring trips or surfing as I mentioned before, yet, the Breeze’s package does not include a repair kit which was a bit weird, consequently, the best thing to do is to treat your inflatable board with care like I do, and hope to never need the repair kit.

Additionally, the hand pump included in the package does a good job inflating the board; however, since I prefer to use an electric pump I don’t think I’ll need it. Further, the paddle breaks into 2 pieces, it is adjustable, and it is made of aluminum which makes it quite durable. Still, I advise you to always go easy on your tools if you really want them to last.

One more thing is the fins; the Breeze is furnished with 3 fins that are directed to make the surfing experience a smoother one; one fin is a slide-in central to enhance portability, and the other 2 side fins are fixed.

Speaking of portability, stand up inflatable paddle boards are largely praised because first, you can carry them with you anywhere without worrying about the storage issues, second, because they’re simply convenient for almost anything and anyone; though I have no idea how do people practice yoga on top of inflatable boards, watching my girlfriend trying it on the Breeze was pretty awesome, and third you can always choose, from the variety of colors and designs, the one that fits you most; the Breeze stand up paddle board was my spirit color.

Now back to portability; this stand up paddle board comes with a back bag to fit the deflated board in it after you roll it up; it’s comfortable to carry and it looks really fine. It has never been easier that it is now; inflatable stand up paddle boards like the Aqua Marina Breeze are made to make it easy for you and cheer you up.

Pros

  • The Aqua Marina Breeze has this great size that is suitable for everyone.
  • It comes with a back bag to carry it with you anywhere.
  • It looks really good in this color, especially with the large black anti-slip pad.

Cons

  • The Breeze comes without a repair it.
  • The back bag fits only for the deflated board, means you’ll have to carry the paddle and the hand pump.

Insider’s Tip

Don’t rush it when any inflatable board is deflating; that way folding the board should be really easy.

When you hear the name ‘Inflatable paddle boards’, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? I’m just gonna make a guess here and say that you’re mostly thinking of a fragile balloon that is shaped like a surf board. Well, I’m afraid you got it all wrong because, you see, most inflatable paddle boards are just as strong as hard boards and a lot more flexible.

It’s really surprising the amount of people who think that just because it’s an inflatable board, it is going to be weak and would easily warp once it makes contact with a sharp or hard object. Absolutely not! Inflatable stand-up paddle boards are mainly built using military/industrial grade material and then crafted generously with a drop double-wall stitch which ranges from one side of the core to the other, making the board almost indestructible. After leaving the factory, these boards undergo a bunch of tests to measure their durability and then they are made available.

Unlike regular inflatable stand up paddle boards, touring inflatable boards are shaped differently because they’re meant to outperform regular ones in terms of performance and speed.

There aren’t too many touring inflatable stand up paddle boards on the market because these boards are built for highly skilled and seasoned paddleboarders. So, if you’re on the lookout for the best inflatable touring sup, here are a few great options to consider.

Best Inflatable Touring SUP Boards Reviews

ISLE Explorer 11ft. Inflatable SUP Review

First on our list of Inflatable SUPs is the ISLE Explorer, one of the best inflatable touring sup and a leading model which harvested the critics’ approval from its very beginning. Why is that? You might wonder. Well, first of all, the ISLE is a brand that dug its name deep in the board industry. This company has quite the record and that reflects on its products, making the ISLE one of the best inflatable SUPs out there by default.

However, is that enough to make a purchase? Should we just get it because the company has a big name? Not really. The ISLE Explorer is not just the descendant of a royalty, it actually earned its title because this board is top notch from body to performance.

Speaking of which, the body of this board is gigantic. It is 12 foot long which means you can easily fit 2 people on the deck head to toes and 36 inches wide, giving you a lot of space to move around and spread your weight properly on the deck (Tip: For perfect balance, place your feet further towards the sides).

Last but not least, the ISLE Airtech Explorer comes with everything you’ll need to maintain the board: Travel paddle, pump, fins and a big bag that fits all of the above.

Xterra Touring 12′ 6″ inflatable SUP Review

XTERRA Touring 12-feet 6-inches Inflatable SUP Board ReviewSecond on the list of best choice iSUP is the XTERRA touring which is almost the same size as the ISLE Explorer but this one is shaped differently. Most boards aim for that generic SUP look. However, the XTERRA adopts the kayak look and I must admit that it looks sharp. For almost the same price, The XTERRA is a strong competitor and promises an exemplary performance especially that it’s shaped like a rocket.

The XTERRA touring is a unique board. It is very strong, being fortified by rigid drop-stitch and double sided reinforcement which will significantly influence performance. This board has an astounding weight limit of 275 pounds and that illustrates how solid it is but the surprise is how swift a big board like this can be.

On the level of user friendliness, this board beats most boards in its category by providing a giant gripping pad, covering 2/3 of the deck and that should help you maintain balance easily but also make it a lot easier to climb back on top after you jump off. The XTERRA also provides a storage net on the nose of the board, consisting of 4 D-rings connected by a bungee cord which allows you to store anything from sandals to paddles.

Overall, the XTERRA promises a memorable experience as a stand up paddle board but also as a kayak because the D-rings allow you to install a kayak seat and you’re ready to cruise.

Ten Toes 12′ Emporium theGlobetrotter Review

Ten Toes 12ft Emporium theGlobetrotter inflatable sup reviewLast but definitely not least on the list is the Ten Toes and as the name indicates, the board guarantees that you keep all of your toes. Just kidding, you win some, you lose some. On a serious note, however, TEN TOES is as old as time, it is a prehistoric manufacturer and with that comes great responsibilities to not disappoint. Thus, the TEN TOES inflatable SUP carries on its shoulders a big name and it has to deliver (and boy does it).

This board has one of the sharpest designs. Scanning the body carefully will tell you enough about how serious this company is about their products. Their boards usually come without a single flow but that’s not all of it. Although looks are pretty important, performance is also key when it comes to inflatable paddle boards (and many other things, if you know what I mean) and this one is not backing off.

The TEN TOES is also in the 12 foot long club but it is extremely reliable and agile. Also, this board is beginner friendly as it comes with a light weight paddle, 3 removable fins, a manual pump and a repair kit but sadly no bag. However, to make up for that, the board does have a 1 year long warranty and when a company trusts their products that much, you can’t really say it’s bad unless you try it.

Final Thoughts

In the end, inflatable SUPs are coming strong this year and they have already taken over a big portion of the SUP market. The reason behind that is the many benefits inflatable SUPs offer in comparison with hard boards. Not only are they just as rigid but they are also more flexible/practical.

Inflatable SUPs do not require big storage space nor do they require a means of transportation. You can easily wear the back pack, go to your nearest body of water and voila, you’re ready to go.

I call them the smart boards.

ISLE Explorer 11ft. Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board ReviewIn my opinion, nothing can beat the feeling you could get when you’re deeply connected with the water. However, many people might fear it and probably won’t enjoy water vibes, but that’s not you since you’re here. Stand up paddling is one of my favorite water sports, and the ISLE® does a great job taking care of everything you could possibly need to have a very satisfying paddling experience.

Spring is right behind the corner, and summer is what we are all waiting for to rock the beach. Thus, the Isle 11ft Explorer inflatable paddle board, as you can see in the pictures, seems to be the man for the mission; it comes in an all-inclusive package so you won’t miss a thing.

The Isle Explorer is a big guy; it’s 11 feet tall and 32 inches wide, and that means double the fun because you can always carry a loved one on board with you because it can take up to 215 pounds. But before considering that, you might like to know that this inflatable board is made to endure quite a lot.

The Isle Explorer is all made of military-grade materials; the anti-slip pad is a diamond groove traction that prevents the slippage of your feet when you’re trying a quick turn, or when the water gets on it.

Additionally, you’ll find a grab handle in the middle of the board; it’s great when you’re trying to get on the back of the board. Also, with dense and layered PVC, this inflatable board offers a good deal, if not great, of durability and resistance, however, as a friendly user, I always advise people to go easy on their items.

ISLE Explorer 11ft. Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board Review 2

Isle recommends their Isle Explorer 11’ inflatable paddle board to those of you who are restless and enthusiastic about adventures, and I couldn’t agree more; trying the Isle Explorer, you will be pretty impressed of how stable it is, you can cruise the flat water as if you’re standing on the ground.

Moreover, I must mention that this inflatable board is 6 inches thick which will provide you with extra rigidity and equilibrium. In addition to that, the nose shape given to the board, which I find stimulatingly similar to a natural board, allows a smoother floating on flat water, as it boasts the speed. However, having a natural board mentioned, I honestly think that there is neither a way nor a reason to compare the two; these inflatable boards have completely different things and aspects to offer, and here I refer to the means of portability and storage.

ISLE Airtech Explorer 11ft. Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board Review

The Isle Explorer inflatable paddle board comes with a 3-piece aluminum adjustable travel paddle that is made to fit everyone. Furthermore, a repair kit is included like usual in case you ever needed it. Moreover, you’ll find a high pressure hand pump that  can inflate the board up to 15 PSI, yet, my advice to you is to get yourself an electric pump; it’s never a waste you’ll need it in multiple occasions, and it will save you plenty of time and effort. Last but not least, the Isle Explorer comes with 3 fins, 2 are small and fixed, and 1 is a bigger removable central fin to facilitate packing it.

Now let’s talk about something I found really useful; I have mentioned that the Isle Explorer is an adventurous inflatable board, now check this out: the Explorer comes with 14 D-rings that are distributed as the  following, 4 on the tail, another 4 on the sides of  nearly the center of the board, and 6 at the front. The tail and front D-rings are connected with 2 individual bungee cords; it’s like a complete bungee system that allows you to carry on board with you a lot more than what you used to carry.

ISLE Airtech Explorer 11ft. Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board Review

Personally, I don’t really like to have my inflatable board loaded with stuff, however, when I needed to attach my kayak seat, take my shoe with me, fix the paddle down, and bring a snack I was pretty pleased with the storage abilities of the Explorer bungee system.

And for this reason, this board provides you with 2 extra grab handles in case you needed help to carry the inflated board.

Not only that that I was pleased with and I’m sure a lot of you’ll agree; the Isle Explorer SUP comes with a nicely made back bag where you can pack the deflated board within. Folding the deflated board should be like rolling up a sleeping bag if you ask me; maybe a little heavier but it’s quite the same. All that is left to say is that you might need a car to take the Isle Explorer with you along your other bags.

Pros

  • The Isle Explorer inflatable paddle board comes in an all-inclusive package that contains everything you need to maintain it.
  • The bungee cords system attached to the 14 D-rings is quite useful to anyone who needs to carry a lot of stuff on board.
  • The size of the Isle Explorer – 11 feet – is great for big adventures.

Cons

  • Only the board when deflated fits in the back bag which means you’ve to carry the paddle and the hand pump.

Tip

If you like to cruise the water sitting on your knees, you may like to make sure that you put something soft on the diamond groove traction before you sit because it might hurt your knees if you sit like that for too long.

Outdoor Tuff OTF-10326SUP Inflatable SUP ReviewOutdoor Tuff isn’t by any means a major brand in the paddle board industry. However, they offer a few great, reasonably priced inflatable stand up paddle boards.

The Outdoor Tuff 10ft inflatable standup paddle board linked to to below is one of the best inflatable stand up paddle boards that Outdoor Tuff has to offer. It’s a very well-made SUP board, all things considered.

This 10ft inflatable sup board is quite sturdy and rigid and has a weight capacity of up to 275 lbs. With such weight limit, you can pretty much take on a companion, be it your significant other or your pet, without experiencing any problem at all.

If you’re a seasoned paddleboarder who’s into advanced paddleboarding, I’m afraid, the Outdoor Tuff 10ft inflatable stand-up paddle board might not be a good option for you, however, if you’re a newbie or an intermediate paddleboarder, this board is worth considering.

The Outdoor Tuff 10ft inflatable standup paddle board  comes with a large nonslip pad that facilitates standing on top of it, and a grab handle which always helps get back on top of it after you went for a swim, or in cases where you just fall into the water. And even though I’m not a yoga person; I saw some friends who really enjoyed their spiritual bubble on this board.

The board also comes with an ankle leash which will save you the trouble of following the board away. Furthermore, it comes with three fins; two are fixed on the sides, and the third is a central slide-in removable fin.

Now, in my opinion, getting on an inflatable board and finding that your weight pushes it down where you actually can see your feet drowning is not comfortable. I really don’t mind but it’s not what you’d be looking for in a board.

The Outdoor Tuff comes with a high pressure hand pump that makes inflating it just a matter of minutes especially if you don’t mind a little workout, and with the right amount of air pumped into it you are ready to rock the water like you should. It’s really important that any inflatable board is well pumped in order to enjoy a full paddling experience; however, you should know that when it comes to stability matters, the thicker the board is the better. The Outdoor Stuff is 6 inches thick, which, compared to other thin inflatable boards, is really good not to only keep you floating but also help you maintain a great equilibrium.

Outdoor Tuff OTF-10326SUP Inflatable SUP Review 2

Additionally, the triple-layer VPC which the board is made of helps maintain a great deal of durability and rigidity. However, the durability of any inflatable board relies in the way you deal with it, how often it is used, and most importantly how. In other words, the Outdoor Tuff is made to endure a certain level of pressure and use just like any other inflatable board, and to expend the durability of your board, or any other item, you just have to treat it well.

In addition to the anti-slip pad, the Outdoor Tuff comes with five D-rings that are used according to need, and the bungee cord that connects them is quite useful when you need to store anything on board, it’s actually my favorite part; the paddle, diving tools, and the sandals… all can be attached to the board while you’re in the water. The paddle that this board comes with is built to float. It can also be adjusted from 61 inches to 80 inches to fit the your height.

It’s an inevitable fact that inflatable boards are what a lot of you out there need; I mean think about it, they’re portable, easily packed, and they come with everything you need to handle it.

Outdoor Tuff OTF-94314SUP inflatable stand up paddle board reviewThe Outdoor Tuff comes in an all-inclusive package which is guaranteed to please you; I have told you about the floating paddle and the hand pump, so remains the repair kit which I’m pretty certain that you wouldn’t need it unless something really sharp got into your inflatable board.

Moreover, this board comes with a back bag which is designed so that the board and all of its equipment fit perfectly in it; the bag is always a plus because it means that you don’t have to worry about where to store the whole thing; you’ll just be up and ready any time and any day to hit the water.

Tip

  • Try to use an electric pump if you have one, it’s faster, and it’ll save you some effort.

Driftsun 10' Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle BoardYou might have encountered some of the Driftsun products that are made to target some summer activities. As I think that they are reasonably priced, the Driftsun 10′ Stand Up Paddle board is one of those items you’d like to check out if you are considering paddling for this spring or summer.

Driftsun presents you with a total package that includes everything you would possibly need to handle and deal with a stand up paddle board, and that, if I may say, is what anyone would be looking for in an inflatable paddle board.

The Driftsun SUP is 10 feet long and 30 inches wide when fully inflated, and here is where I would usually recommend an electric pump; it’s just faster and it saves you a lot of energy. Anyway, the package provides you a hand pump with PSI gauge if you are used to working out.

This inflatable board is made to carry up to 350 pounds, however, like any other inflatable board you might notice that the board dips a little  more into the water when you carry someone else with you on board. Nevertheless, the Driftsun is 6 inches thick which, unlike thinner inflatable paddle boards, provides a great performance when it comes to rigidity and balance.

Let me tell you that an inflatable board is never like the hard one, it’s true that we are looking for a strong and rigid inflatable board, but you should always keep in mind that any inflatable board is way too light compared to an authentic one. Thus, standing on a solid board might feel way firmer and sturdy. Nonetheless, the Driftsun is quite strong and doesn’t bow due to weight neither in nor out of the water.

It comes with an anti-slip pad to maintain the maximum amount of stability while standing on top of it, and the provided grab handle is always of a great help when you are trying to get back on top of the board. Furthermore, this board comes with 2 additional grab handles; one at the front, and the other at the back. Those handles are great in case you can’t carry the board on your own when it’s inflated.

Driftsun 10ft Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board Review 3Moreover, the Driftsun SUP comes with 4 D-rings that are connected with a bungee cord for the days where you want to take anything on board with you. It’s a really well thought idea that of providing some space on the board to carry what you need on it without losing it to the water. Another aspect of this board is the 3 detachable fins, I have to say this; I love how it feels when you slide them in, also, when deflated, it’s way easier to fold the board without them.

Now honestly speaking, inflatable boards have so much to offer, they are extremely portable, lighter, and they don’t need much to be handled. The Driftsun’s paddle is a deluxe fiberglass one, it is 7-foot long, it’s adjustable and light, and you can easily adjust it to suit you.

Additionally, this stand up paddle board comes with a repair kit in case you ever needed it; which reminds me to mention that the Driftsun SUP is made of military-grade PVC material and drop-stitch construction as it is noted in their website, and as you can notice the nose of the this stand up paddle board is quite round, however, it does not affect its performance, and it is strong enough to take up a beating without failing. Still, I would never recommend anyone to go hard on their inflatable boards, simply because durability matters are greatly related to the way you deal with your board and how often it is used.

Driftsun 10 ft Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board bagNow we got to my favorite part, with the Driftsun SUP you don’t have to worry about storage or portability; this board comes with a good, if not great, looking back bag to pack the board and all its equipment within.

This is what I meant when I said that inflatable paddle boards have so much to offer; you just role up the deflated board, pack it along with the other tools, and  now  you are ready to carry your board on your back and walk ( if it’s not too far) to the nearest lake or beach, and still look good. The Driftsun is relatively light compared to other inflatable paddle boards, and that is just great if you are willing to take it with you anywhere during not only the whole summer, but the whole year.

I’m not sure what’s the first thing you get in mind once you hear the phrase ‘Paddle board’ but it’s probably some sort of a heavy but expensive wooden toy that is shaped like a big post. However, that is not the case with the ISLE VERSA.

The ISLE VERSA is one of the few paddle boards out there that actually looks like a surf board. Most paddle boards end up looking like a rectangle after production for whatever reason. I don’t know whether that’s the company’s attempt to stand out or plain carelessness. You might think that it’s not that big of a deal and for the most part you’re right; the shape of the board will hardly affect its performance but there’s a reason why we prefer round over square donuts.

The ISLE is made of very durable materials that are reinforced with meticulous craftsmanship (AKA the secret behind every good product) which makes the core very strong. Meaning, you don’t have to treat this board like a baby and waste time worrying about whether it’s going to hold strong or not. Also, the weight limit on this board breaches 275 lbs and that’s usually a huge signifier for durability. The ISLE is thus one of the few paddle boards which will allow you to enjoy your cruise carefree.

The ISLE is designed to excel in flat water, so don’t expect to fly through a wavy surface unless you’re a professional. Nonetheless, you can definitely surf on this board because it doesn’t only look like a surf board, it also acts as one. This board however is meant for beginners and intermediate riders, so if you’re a professional then you should probably look at something more to your taste or maybe invest in an inflatable paddle board and try out something new. (By the way, inflatable boards are very suitable for riders of all levels).

This board comes in three different colours: Aqua, blue and green; and that is pretty uncommon when it comes to paddle boards which usually do not grant you the luxury of choosing from a variety of colours. It is 10’5” long which should fit you perfectly if you’re 6 feet tall or under, 32 inches wide which will help you spread your weight comfortably on top of the board and maintain strong balance, and somewhere around 5 inches wide which could’ve been better if you ask me.

The reason I say this is because hard paddle boards require a thick body so they don’t dip at the middle which can occur in boards that are between 3 and 4 inches thick. Meaning, you can still wear your sneakers on this board without worrying about getting them wet but it could’ve been better. Also, you must be on calm water in order to achieve that.

Speaking of which, paddle boarding is mistakenly taken for a summer time activity while it doesn’t have to be. In my opinion, all it requires is clear weather and a body of water. I personally have used my board throughout the seasons and it works just fine as long as I don’t fall off. I admit, it did happen a couple of times but I usually prefer to meditate and cruise peacefully on my board which doesn’t necessarily require swim shorts, unless you’re trying to impress somebody.

This board is equipped with a comfortable gripping pad that covers the lower half of the board, giving you plenty of space to move around freely and change positions. The pad doesn’t just help you stand strong on the board but it also makes it easier to get back up on the deck after you dive in the water. The ISLE comes with an adjustable carbon paddle (Also, it looks pretty nifty) and a 9 inch center box fin. This board has neither D-rings nor bungee cords for on board storage but that’s part of the authentic hard board look.

Insider tip

In case you really need that deck storage net, you can still use suction cups, poke holes on the tips and attach a bungee cord through them and voila!

Pros

  • The ISLE is the successor of many great boards branded by the same company, giving it far more legitimacy and trust worthiness on the market.
  • The board is very solid and durable, meaning it’s an eternal purchase as I like to call it. An eternal purchase is a product you buy which lasts for a life time without having to worry about getting something better.
  • The authenticity of the board is unmatchable and as an avid paddler, I concur that looks are very important when it comes to boards in general.

Cons

  • The board could’ve been thicker. However, it doesn’t really affect performance in any way.

XTERRA Boards 10 Foot Inflatable SUP Package Review

The XTERRA is a familiar name in the whole inflatable paddle board scene and that is for a good reason. These guys go way back to the genesis of the inflatable board and beyond. In fact, they made hard boards for a while before investing in this new trend which infested the paddle boarding industry.

Recently, the XTERRA introduced their new 10 foot long touring board as a successor of the older 12 foot long edition. This new board is significantly smaller in size but still very compatible with user who are 6 feet tall or under.

Also, the board at hand is rounder at the edges, which gives it that original hard board look. It is 30 inches wide which allows you to stand comfortably with your legs apart in order to maintain stronger balance.

The XTERRA is 5.5” thick and that’s pretty significant, considering that boards which are not as thick would slightly duck under water at the center and submerge your feet in water at all time. Therefore, a thick board is pretty significant if you’re planning on using it throughout seasons and not worry about your shoes getting soaked.

XTERRA Boards 10 Foot Inflatable SUP Package Review 3

This board weighs something around 29 pounds but don’t let that fool you because it has a weight limit of 250 lbs. I personally enjoy cruising on my own most of the time and enjoy the calm but often times than not I end up enjoying company just as much and this board can definitely afford company. With such weight limit, you can pretty much take on a companion, be it your significant other or your pet, without influencing the performance of the board.

When it comes to inflatable paddle boards, people’s first concern is durability. You’re thinking to yourself that it’s just a big balloon but that is not the case. Most these boards are made specifically to endure a beating and they end up performing just as good if not better than a strong board. Take the XTERRA as an example; this board is fortified with rigid drop stitch and double sided reinforcement. Also, the board is based on military grade materials and that’s the kind of stuff bullet proof vests are made of.

The deck pad of the XTERRA is very comfortable even though that isn’t its primary purpose. The pad will prevent you from slipping off the board and help you get back on top of it easily.

Also, the board has 4 stainless steel d-rings connected by a bungee cord on its nose and it serves as storage net for basically anything.

Unlike most inflatable boards, this one actually has a head D-ring which is great for toeing or securing your board but it also has another D-ring at the back and that’s where you’re supposed to install your ankle leash(comes with the board). Also, the board has a seamless carrying handle at the center to make lifting it alone possible (it’s only 29 pounds).

XTERRA Boards 10 Foot Inflatable SUP Package Review 2

Moreover, a great feature of this board is that it comes with everything a beginner would need to maintain the board at best shape. First things first, the package includes a high pressure hand pump and let me just warn you ahead of time: you won’t mind pumping your board for 10 minutes the first couple times but it will begin to get on your nerves eventually. Therefore, I would advise you to get yourself an electric pump because you will need it sooner or later.

Second, the company supplies you with 3 slid-in fins: A central one and two smaller fins on the sides. The fins will help you gain significant control over the board in steady currents but try avoiding shallow water when using them.

Third, the XTERRA provides you with a basic repair kit in case of emergency.

Fourth, you will also be equipped with a collapsible aluminium paddle.

And last but definitely not least, the whole thing comes in a sliding roller bag which makes this board much more practical and less annoying to transport.

Inflatable paddle boards can perform just as good as your generic strong board but it is much more practical and that’s something you should keep in mind. When you get the XTERRA, you won’t have to worry about making space for it in your garage nor renting a van to transport it to the beach because it fits in a bag with the rest of the equipment.

Pros

  • The XTERRA is a reputable company with a rich history in the business of inflatable paddle boards and that’s always a reassurance.
  • The board comes with everything you will need to maintain. Therefore, it is beginner friendly but also great for pros.
  • The board is a perfect size with a great limit which guarantees more fun and amusement.

Cons

  • THE PUMPING IS NOT FUN

Atoll 11 ft 0 inches Foot Inflatable Stand up Paddle Board reviewIn my opinion, nothing beats the feeling of embracing the natural world around us, to just dive into it and submerge ourselves in the raw elements of this planet. There are many ways to achieve this feeling but the best way for me is to pick up my stand up paddle board and just flow with the current.

I’ve been paddle boarding for quite a while now and if there is one word through which I can describe this sport, it would be ‘rejuvenating’. But it’s not that easy to embark on this journey because, over time, I learned that paddle boarding is a very precise activity. What I mean by precise is that you can’t just jump into it and hope that everything goes well. Instead, you must be very particular when it comes to your initial state of mind, your intentions, but most importantly the equipment you’re going to use.

By now, you must be wondering why I sound spiritual and what not because after all we are talking about what could be an extreme sport. Well, that’s the thing with paddle boarding, it can be many things. I personally prefer the subtle and peaceful side of it. However, that does not mean I don’t like to go crazy with it. In fact, you can’t really help but enjoy everything paddle boarding has to offer.

So, let’s go back to equipment. It is very important to choose the right board for you when you decide to take on this sport. And you’re probably reading this review because you are interested in the ATOLL 11 foot inflatable stand up paddle board. So let me save you the trouble and tell you that this board is just great. It will satisfy most if not all of your expectations and it’s going to be very reliable. However, if that doesn’t help make up your mind then let us talk details.

Atoll 11 foot inflatable stand up paddle board reviewYour first concern when getting a board should be the size, believe me. Not all boards are the same size and that’s for a very good reason. The ATOLL is 11 foot long and somewhere around 30 inch wide which makes it an appropriate board for anyone under 6 feet tall.

Also, this board is 6 inches thick and that matters a lot. Once on water, some boards will dive at the middle and your feet would always be swimming. However, when your board is 6 inches thick or more, you can even wear socks and not worry about them getting wet. Not only is that great for socks lovers but it’s also much more fun when you jump off your board into the water.

What is significant about this board, however, is the way it is shaped. Most inflatable board out there end up looking like a rectangular planch and that’s fine if you’re into contemporary art but if you appreciate the authentic surf board look then the ATOLL is your friend.

Also, the board has a nicely designed gripping pad which covers most of the board to guarantee firmer balance and grants you more space to move around on top of the board. The gripping pad is not only meant to help you maintain balance when standing on the ATOLL but it’s also very helpful when you want to climb back on top of it.

When it comes to utility, this board is significantly improved when compared to other boards in the same category. For starters, the ATOLL has 6 stainless steel D-rings on the nose of the board that are connected with a bungee cord which allows you to store anything from your shoes to your paddle. It has three carry handles: one on top of the D-rings which serves for toeing or securing your board, a second at the center which helps you carry your board single handed, and a third on the back of the deck which can be used like the first one but it also serves as a base for your ankle leash. (if you can’t carry the board yourself, you can ask someone to help you using the handles at the front and back).

Atoll 11 foot inflatable SUP Review

Now, when it comes to user friendliness, this board has really impressed me. The ATOLL comes in an all inclusive package which contains everything you will be needing to maintain this board. First thing you’ll notice is the high pressure hand pump which is every paddle boarder’s arch enemy. You might not mind the 10 minutes long pumping of your board the first couple of times, but it starts to get really challenging with time and this is something that goes for every inflatable board out there. My advice is to simply use your electric pump or buy one if you don’t have it already because you will need it sooner or later.

A great addition to this board is the collapsible aluminium paddle which breaks down to 3 parts for extra portability, a slide-in removable central fin that you should avoid using in shallow water, a generic repair kit which is always a good thing to have and last but not least a practical back pack that’s large enough for the deflated board, the paddle, the repair kit and the pump.

I can’t get over the fact that inflatable paddle boards are just so practical. I mean it fits in a back pack with all the other equipment – How crazy is that? You don’t have to worry about clearing storage space for your gigantic board nor will you have to rent a WV van to transport it to the nearest water side. Basically, you can just wear your back pack and walk down to your nearest lake or beach and BAAM you have everything you need to start. I’m not hating on strong boards but all I’m saying is that inflatable boards have a lot more to offer.

Pros

  • This board embodies the authentic surf board look which is very uncommon amongst inflatable paddle boards out there.
  • It comes with everything you’ll need to maintain it as a beginner or professional paddler.
  • This board has a weight limit of 230 lbs which means that you can be accompanied by a toddler or a pet without affecting performance.

Cons

  • The pumping is gonna get on your nerves eventually so you should just get an electric pump and save yourself the trouble. Plus, it fits better than the hand pump in the bag.

XTERRA Touring 12-feet 6-inches Inflatable SUP Board ReviewI’m just gonna get it out of the way and say that inflatable paddle boards are the future of paddle boarding. I know that it’s hard to bury a habit but believe me; you have to try an inflatable paddle board. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that inflatable boards will out-perform your generic solid boards but there is a lot more to them which makes them significantly a smarter purchase.

But here’s the tick: not all inflatable boards can compete with the traditional ones and that’s why you must do your research before you jump on the first inflatable board you spot.

So, the fact that you’re here means that you are looking for a big board, and right now you are really interested in the XTERRA touring SUP. However, you still have some questions, some concerns; so let me help you.

First of all, the XTERRA is large and when I say large, I mean as big as a kayak. This thing is huge which means more stability but is that all you’re looking for? I would say no because once you decide on inflatable boards, a million other question pups up in your head.

So, let’s take this board under the scope. The XTERRA is 12’6” long and that means it can carry two people on their back head to feet. It’s 30 inches wide which makes it easy stand comfortably on this board with your feet near both edges and establish great balance. In addition to that, this board is 6 inches thick and that guarantees you remain high above water level (fun fact: it feels great to dive off this board).

This board has enough stainless steel D-rings which is very rare amongst inflatable boards. It has one ring on the nose of the deck to help toe or secure the board, 4 d-rings below that one which serve as to store anything from your sandals to your paddle and a rear D-ring which can be used to install an ankle leash (which I strongly advise).

Not only is it as big as a kayak but the XTERRA looks like one as well. The board comes in an attractive red colour and a large gripping pad which covers the back half of the deck. The pad doesn’t only help you maintain balance when on top of the board but it also makes it much easier to climb back on top after you fall or jump off. Speaking of which, you might think that the board will flip if you try to climb back up but believe me, that doesn’t even happen with smaller inflatable boards; imagine flipping this big guy.

XTERRA Touring 12 feet 6 inches Inflatable SUP Board Review 3Size isn’t always everything because when it comes to inflatable boards, construction is a critical influencer over the quality of the board. Not to worry though because the XTERRA is fortified with military grade material, rigid drop-stitch and double sided reinforcement which makes the board almost indestructible. Therefore, you don’t have to worry about your board warping at any minute.

Big boards are usually harder to manoeuvre but once on water this big boy can surprise you. On water, the XTERRA performs very well and picks steady speed continuously and although it can be slower than smaller boards, it is much more stable and easier to control if you distribute your weight on it correctly.

The XTERRA has one gigantic central fin which is uncommon but still practical. The central fin will grant you easy control on calm water and it also handles current significantly well. But stay away from shallow water because the fin is large and might get damaged.

Now big board lovers are going to love this one even more because not only does this cover everything you’re looking for in a large board but it’s also inflatable but what does that mean? Well, it means that you can basically deflate, roll up this 12 feet long monster and put it back in its small back pack. So, forget about where you have to put this board or how are you going to get it to the beach because you can literally carry it in your back pack seamlessly.

XTERRA Touring 12 feet 6 inches Inflatable SUP Board review 2Now you might wonder if it’s hard to pump up something this big and all I’m going to tell you is that it’s not easy. The board comes with a back pack, a long paddle and a conveniently (not really) high pressure manual pump. The pump is alright and it takes around 10 minutes to fully inflate the board (15 psi) and that can be a little demanding, especially when the pressure gouge points over 10 psi. My advice to you is to just get an electric pump because even if you don’t need it for the board, you will be needing it with a hundred other things. Trust me just buy one and save yourself the trouble.

Lastly, the board is pretty light (31 pounds) considering its size and you can easily carry it using the central carrying handle on the deck. Nevertheless, it performs extremely well and has an astounding weight limit of 275 pounds while maintaining maximal efficiency. That means you can pick up a friend or a pet easily on this board with no concerns.

Pros

  • This board is gigantic and thus majestic. However, that’s not the only benefit of a big board. It also means you can have extra fun with friends or pets while using this board and cruise with a couple passengers.
  • The board is significantly strong and rigid which means that you do not have to cruise like you’re babysitting someone and actually enjoy the ride without a second thought.
  • The pad on this board is comfortable and developed to grant the rider maximal gripping and control over the board.
  • This board looks like a kayak and I don’t even need to explain why that’s awesome.

Cons

  • Pumping always gets to me. I just wish the inflatable SUP committee gathers up and decides to include an electric pump in the pack instead of a manual one from here on.

XTERRA Touring 12 feet 6 inches Inflatable Sup Stand-up Paddle Board -

iRocker 10 Inflatable SUP board reviewThe iRocker is one of the few inflatable paddle boards which is actually pretty good. This thing is very rigid since it’s made of military grade material. Nonetheless, it actually looks as if it has been designed to run on a beauty pageant. It is a good looking board and just like any other inflatable board, it is very light and easy to move around.

The iRocker is 10 ft tall, 30 inches wide and 6 inches thick when fully inflated which looks just about right compared to other over-sized or undersized boards. As it is common with inflatable boards, the manufacturer almost always includes a pump with the package and this product is no exception.

The board takes  under 10 minutes to inflate and shouldn’t overpass 15 PSI which should be evident on the pressure gauge that comes with the pump. It might seem like a minor detail to over or under inflate the board but believe me, it will noticeably affect the performance once on water, so better keep it at 15.

I have been using this board for almost two weeks now and to tell the truth I am not disappointed. I mean, for something in this price range and at this quality, it is easily a good purchase. But to make sure, I went and put it to the test several times, using it in shallow water, throwing it on rocks, pebbles or sand when done but that didn’t seem to leave any visible damage on the board’s outer layer which confirms its rigidity.

iRocker 10' Inflatable Stand up Paddle Board ReviewAlso, nothing says ‘this is a good quality product’ like a 2 years warranty which the manufacturer includes as safety net in case you doubt its rigidity.

The iRocker is built to endure the probable effects of any possible impacts caused by dings, wood pilings, or concrete. Besides the basic materials, the making of any product is half the quality and it really shows on this board. It isn’t unfamiliar to find flaws in any product but that cannot be tolerated when making such purchase because any defect in an inflatable board can jeopardize the basic functions of this thing. That is why, whenever I make a purchase, I make sure to scrutinize the product for any obvious defects like bumps or uneven angles which can become a problem with time.

The weight limit on this board is up to 350 lbs which is great because sometimes you might want to take someone cruising with you which you can’t really achieve with most boards in this price range whose weight limit is 250 lbs at best. Add to that, the traction pad on the iRocker covers 2 thirds of the deck and does a great job helping you maintain a solid posture when standing and maximizes gripping in strong currents. Also, it is very helpful when you try to get back on the board when you fall in the water.

white iRocker 10' Inflatable SUP board reviewThis board does not come with a repair kit which is weird but it does include a very practical back pack/carry bag which makes it a lot easier to store and move your board when deflated. I don’t know why not all inflatable boards come with a carry bag because it is indispensable as it prevents accidentally damaging your board when transporting or storing it getting. It also looks great to come wearing a small back pack to the beach with a paddle and a pump in your hand and suddenly bam!!! A huge solid board appears out of nowhere. That never seizes to impress people.

One thing which really got me into this board is its shape. I love the idea of inflatable boards in general because they are so much more practical than regular boards but sadly most of the manufacturers end up making something that looks rectangular and that is not how a board is supposed to look like. The iRocker looks sharp and specifically designed to look like a natural board which is very satisfying because it combines the best of both worlds. Also, the board comes in two colors for the same price and that was a relief because some boards either look too feminine or too masculine but in this case, you get to choose for yourself.

AmazonButtonPros

  • The iRocker comes with an all inclusive package which contains everything you need to maintain this board.
  • It looks great and just like natural board with the extra practicality of an inflatable one.
  • This board is built with a beginner in mind which means it can take a beating and you wouldn’t have to treat it like a butterfly.

Cons

  • It doesn’t come with a repair kit which is all that is missing in this board.
